Choosing the Perfect Baby Carrier
> Why should I buy a woven wrap over a stretchy/hybrid wrap?
Didymos currently offers hundred of options in their woven wrap line with different weaves, patterns, colours and fibre blends to choose from. There is something for everyone in the woven wrap line! Didymos woven wraps are offered in 7 standard sizes, offering complete versatility to suit all needs and preferences. The stretch jersey wraps are only available in a few solid colours, and in limited sizes. It is suggested they be used only up to a certain age while a woven wrap can be used for as long as your baby/child wishes to be worn.
> Why should I buy a stretchy hybrid over a woven wrap?
Didymos is one of only a few wrap manufactures that offers a hybrid stretchy wrap. The hybrid features allows this wrap to be worn on the front, hip and the back from newborn to preschool age just like a woven wrap. Most stretchy wraps in today's marketplace are designed only for front carries and have a weight limit of 15-20lbs however the Didymos hybrid stretchy combines the cuddly soft knit jersey of a stretchy and the versatility of a woven wrap. Woven wraps are generally a bit stiffer brand new than a hybrid wrap and require a wash and some wear before feeling floppy and soft so if it a t-shirt feel you are after, then this hybrid stetchy is for you. Having said this, though, DIDYMOS cotton is completely untreated so even their woven wraps do not require much time to soften up.
> SHOULD I BUY A RING SLING OR A WRAP FOR NEWBORN WEARING?
Both a ring sling and a woven wrap are excellent for newborn wearing. A ring sling is a "poppable" carrier where the carrier can be left on and baby popped in and out of the carrier as needed. It is a one-shouldered carrier so great for little babies and then later on for toddler quick ups and downs. A wrap will have the most versatility as it can accommodate any wearers size, needs and preference of carry. It can be worn one- or two-shouldered and can carry children from newborn to preschool age. It takes a bit longer to put on and learn how to use than a ring sling but it is our most versatile carrier! We always say that anything worth learning takes a bit of effort and with a bit of effort, wrapping can become quickly familiar. > Which wrap should I buy for newborn wearing?
All of our Didymos wraps are purposefully woven to carry your baby from newborn to preschool age. Our number one rule of thumb is to pick something that visually appeals, with a couple of considerations. In our experience, we find that many new wrappers tend to buy wraps for their newborns that are light weight. We have classed all of our woven wraps according to fabric weight and we would suggest, for the wearer of a newborn baby, to select a wrap from the light or medium-weight categories. Wraps that are lighter and thinner have an easier learning curve than thick and heavier wraps when first learning to wrap. Bulky fabric of thick wraps can sometimes feel like it is engulfing a tiny baby. Some great suggestions are wraps with a fabric weight under 220 g/m², all cotton which is easy care. Some patterns to look at would be Lisca, Double-Face, Prima, Ada, Standard Stripes. Of course, there are many other patterns that can be looked at as well but these can be good starting points.
> What wrap should I purchase for warmer weather?
> What size of wrap should I purchase?
Generally, we like to recommend that new wrappers purchase a standard long wrap size for their first wrap, but this is not a hard and fast rule! A standard long wrap size makes things a little more simplified for you as a new wrapper, but we can work with you for any size you wish to purchase. Wraps come in size 1-9. The most common long wrap sizes are size 5, 6 and 7.

> What carrier should I choose?
In our experience, we find that most people are intuitively drawn to a certain style of carrier. Whether it be the fundamental mechanics or the visual aesthetics, trust your instinct as usually the carrier that speaks to your from the start, is the carrier for you. You may receive well-intentioned advice from friends or on-line forums about which carrier to purchase.
