Price includes the extra shipping fees involved. The Innerspring Crib Mattress has a firm innerspring of tempered steel (NO plastic or chemical coatings), with a coil count of 180. The rest is made of organic cotton (completely chemical-free, from the growing stage to the manufacturing stage) and untreated wool. The wool acts as a comfort layer (which helps regulate body temperature while one sleeps) and also acts as a natural fire-retardant (NO chemicals are needed to meet safety standards). The mattress padding is made using a unique quilting system in which carded organic cotton batting is quilted between layers of organic cotton fabric. The system prevents padding migration, and increases longevity and uniformity of the upholstery. No matter how much your little one jumps on this mattress, the padding will not shift!
