I have this Jacket in Blue, size M. I normally wear a size 8 for tops and 12 for pants. I got it as a present for the new baby while I was still pregnant, and I have worn it exclusively since then, whenever the weather required a warmer jacket.
This jacket has 1 insert, that can be put in front, if you carry your baby in the front, and it has a little "tunnel" that keeps your hands warm while you can rub baby's back. If you carry your baby in the back, you take out the insert from the front and put it in the back, where a cleverly hidden zipper opens to accept the insert. I have also taken the insert out altogether when I was outside without carrying the baby, and the jacket looked really stylish and not at all bulky. The fact that you have one insert that your can switch around means that you have not bulky "humps" like you could get when an insert just gets "hidden" when not in use, instead of being taken out. A drawstring at the waist lets you adjust it to a more form-fitting jacket.
The zipper you would use to zip up the jacket has a really long "zipperhandle" that helps closing the jacket when you have a baby-bump in front and can not really see well what you are doing and can't reach around easily. I found this a really helpful gadget.
What I especially like about this jacket, now that my son turned one and is on my back more, is that he can take out his arms while he riding on my back and point out things that interest him. When he was a newborn, he could lay his head on my chest, without material interfering between him and me (like an extra head-hole would have).
The hood is attached by 3 buttons (at least in my version, I don't know if they updated this), and can easily be removed. The material is extremely lightweight and still warm. I used it in Germany in February, although I admit it might require a warm sweater underneath for extreme cold. The material also kept us dry during lighter rains.
I cannot say enough good things about this jacket. I carry my son almost exclusively in a wrap, and this jacket is indispensable. I have washed it in my washing machine several times and it still looks as good as it did the same I got it!
When my son was newborn, he usually slept in a wrap on me most of the day. When it was time to go out and to the store around the corner, I just put the jacket on, and I didn't have to wake him up to dress him warmly. A lot of times he hadn't even noticed that we had been out. I highly recommend this jacket to anybody who carries their babies/toddlers a lot!
